As far as audio players go for GNU/Linux, you have many options. There's XMMS (now mostly defunct,) Audacious (not to be confused with Audacity,) Songbird, which can play m4p files and sync with your iPod or iPhone, Rhythmbox, Beep Media Player, Banshee, Amarok (rock solid, though not the prettiest GUI,) among others.

We, at the crazyskills compound, recommend Amarok. Audacious might be prettier (skin support) but it tends to crash on our test systems over prolonged use. The latest version (2.0.1.1) of Amarok for the GNU/Linux OS is available here [amarok.kde.org/], though we tend to prefer Amarok 1.0.2 [] for its compact design.

The Amarok homepage is here: amarok.kde.org/ [amarok.kde.org]
